Job description

**Directorate: People Services**

**Hours: 37 hours a week**
**Contract Type: Permanent**
**Location: The Council House**

**WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM EXISTING DERBY CITY COUNCIL OR DERBY HOMES EMPLOYEES. CERTAIN AGENCY WORKERS MEETING CRITERIA UNDER THE AGENCY WORKERS REGULATIONS (2010) MAY ALSO APPLY**

The Care Act 2014 placed a duty on Local Authorities to shape and maintain an efficient and affective market of services for meeting care and support needs. Local Authorities also have a responsibility to ensure the safety of all local people using independent sector care providers. The role of the Quality Monitoring Team is to both promote and monitor quality in the care services being commissioned by Derby City Council; help foster continuous improvement and innovation in provision across the care sector, support recruitment and retention of the local carer workforce, and mitigate provider failure to ensure the safety of our adult service users.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in Derby’s growing and forward-thinking Quality Monitoring Team. We are looking to recruit three experienced, proactive, solution-focused and resilient individuals to support local care market oversight through robust monitoring, both proactive and reactive review of local care services, and collation and reporting of quality information captured from a variety of sources including audit, inspection visits, and customer engagement.

Derby City Council’s People Services Directorate is responsible for the delivery of public health, adult social care, children and young people and safeguarding services. We aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the local population and make sure that care is of a high quality, person-centered and targeted to those in most need.
