**Claremont House**

Claremont House is a modern, 40 bed care facility located in the village of Heckmondwike that cares for adults over 65 years with a diagnosis of Dementia.
The home provides 24-hour residential and respite care, both short and long stay,

**The Role**:
As a laundry Assistant you will work shifts on a 7-day rota system including weekends and Public Holidays. The hours are: 8am until 1pm

**Your main duties**
- Laundering including repair of service users clothing and bedding etc.
- Wardrobe and drawer tidy organisation and tidy.
- Cleaning duties
- Tasks to maintain the building fabric, furniture, and fittings in a clean and hygienic condition.
- Care duties in a responsive manner appropriate to the individual needs of the resident. These will include washing, bathing and toileting etc.
- Working with potentially heavy/bulky equipment and supplies, as well as working with residents with Dementia.

As part of your role, you will be required to undertake Movement and Handling training to help you assess and reduce risks to yourself, colleagues and residents.

You must have the ability to demonstrate literacy skills in order to read and follow instructions and an understanding of practical hygiene issues relating to the kitchen and other areas.
