**National Standard Instructor/ Bikeability Instructor**
We are looking for energetic, motivated, and personable individuals who have experience working with or coaching young people, with a passion and knowledge for Cycling. Professionalism and reliability are equally important to maintain strong working relationships with clients and the current cycle instructor team.
**Locations**:
Areas covered - Nuneaton, Bedworth, North Warwickshire and/or Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth with surrounding areas.
**The Company**
Northern Warwickshire Active Community Foundation is a Community Interest Company set up as a legacy to the School Sports Partnership in Nuneaton, Bedworth and North Warwickshire in 2015. As part of our development work we provide specialist cycle training for all ages including; Bikeability levels 1, 2 and 3, community and adult cycle training.
**The Position**
We are seeking to appoint team members who have a strong track record of working with children and young people, who are also confident cyclists who will support us to deliver Bikeability Training inline with the standards set by the Department of Transport.
This is an opportunity for a confident, individual who can work independently and within a team and is committed to delivering quality cycle sessions, able to deliver and excel by prioritising both customer and company expectations.
- £ 8.60 (National minumum wage) - 15.00ph dependant upon age, experience, qualifications and employment status.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist with the delivery of National Standard Cycle training as organised by NWA.
- Complete course paperwork including registers, assessments, course reports and results.
- Complete risk assessments of the trainees, cycles, and the training area (including on-road locations).
- Collection and review of consent forms at the start of training sessions.
- Accountable for the safety and welfare of colleagues and trainees.
- Ensure training is delivered in line with NW Active's health and safety policy with an awareness of accident and incident reporting procedures.
- Enable trainees to cycle safely, promoting cycling as a means of transport and a fun, healthy activity.
- Research and continuously develop skills.
- Assisting with Cycle promotion/development
- Adhere to the Bikeability Trust's delivery standards.
**Knowledge and Experience Requirements**:
- Confident and competent cyclist.
- Understanding and awareness of road and traffic environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all trainees including children, parents, and schools.
- Be decisive, maintain good discipline, inspire confidence, and give encouragement.
- Be enthusiastic about cycling with an understanding of cycling as a sport, means of transport, leisure pursuit and healthy form of exercise.
- First Aid and Child Protection Training - Desirable (training will be provided if required)
- Understand basic cycle maintenance - Desirable.
- 1 years’ experience with children; teaching or voluntary.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Freelance
Pay: £8.60-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 - 32 per week
