**Location **Our office at Barclays Eagle Labs, 1 Preston Road. After 3 months
there is an option for Hybrid working.
**Salary **£25,000 depending on experience.
**Hours **Full time, Monday
- Friday, 37.5 hours.
**Holidays **24 days, plus bank holiday.
**Purpose of the role**
To deliver a brilliant member experience from day one so that Brighton Chamber members are supported and get value from their membership and stay members.
Working closely with the Head of Member Engagement, this is a varied role focusing on getting to know and supporting our current members, developing our membership offering and growing the Chamber community. While this is an exciting and varied role don’t worry, you won’t be left on your own. We have a small team but we work closely together and you will be well supported and many of the tasks are collaborative.
We’re looking for someone who wants to have an impact on their local business community. We’re looking for an exceptional team player, a curious questioner and above all, a people person who loves to make connections and get to know people.
We’ve created this new role to help us deliver a brilliant experience for Chamber members as we crack on with growing our membership and making Brighton a brilliant place to work or run a business.
**Key skills and person specification**
We’re looking for someone who is **outgoing and sociable** and at ease and confident in talking to different people - this role is all about engaging with our members after all.
You’ll be an **excellent communicator **in writing and in person. You’ll be at home in this role if you’re someone who likes to **persuade, influence and engage.**
You must be **curious about people and business, **able to ask great questions and really listen to and care about the answers and how we can support members.
Our members are at the heart of what we do, so you’ll need to be **exceptionally customer focused. **We want all our members to feel welcome and that they are valued and well supported.
We’re a small but perfectly formed team and while we each have our areas of responsibility, we need someone who is a **great team player, **the type of person who is the first to pitch in and help when needed and who wants to work together to get stuff done.
No day is the same at the Chamber and our programme of work is fast paced, so we’re looking for someone who, with the right guidance and support, **can take initiative and ownership of their areas of**
**work and just crack on.**
Creating a brilliant experience for our members often relies on us getting small details right, so we’re looking for someone **methodical and organised with great attention to detail.** We want someone who doesn’t miss a trick.
**Key tasks and responsibilities**
**Member engagement**
- First point of contact for new members, including the welcome journey, new member phone calls and new member welcome.
- Getting to know members, building relationships and helping our members use their membership.
- Working with the Head of Member Engagement on developing and managing the Chamber
Ambassadors.
- Taking part in Chamber events - welcoming members on registration, chatting to members and prospects and business matchmaking in advance and on the day.
- Membership administration including CRM and website management, cancellations, and payments.
- Keeping up to date with useful business information to help support our members.
**Prospects**
- Attending other events in the city to network and promote the Chamber and what we do.
- Encouraging businesses to join the Chamber
**Membership development**
- Contribute to the design and development of new and existing benefits of membership, including the creation and design of the events programme.
- Find members that we might like to work with as a speaker, host, trainer, or Ambassador.
- Helping to create and deliver a programme of feedback from our members including surveys and focus groups.
**Marketing and website**
- Website administration
- Supporting Membership & Marketing Manager with sponsor relationships and tasks.
- Contribute to ideas for marketing the Chamber and members.
- Using LinkedIn to engage with members and market the Chamber.
**Project support**
- Coordinating our local schools and colleges partnership.
- Coordination and project/ event support for the Chamber Net Zero Champions.
- Support for projects we run that benefit our members and the city’s business community. Current projects include supporting job fairs and business matchmaking for refugees.
There may be other areas of responsibility depending on the skills of the post holder.
