Based at our Dallachy landfill site in Spey Bay, the work associated with this role will entail the acceptance, storage, treatment, transfer and disposal of controlled waste arriving at the Council’s landfill site from the various disposal facilities including that collected from kerbside collections.
All waste movements will need to be recorded using the on-site weighbridge and associated software package.
As required to meet the needs of the service, there may be a need to work at various other facilities to cover for sickness and annual leave as requested by the Waste Policy Officer
**Requirements**:
Operate and be responsible for any waste disposal plant allocated.
Recording and collating of all weighbridge data and associated paperwork, including the inputting of data on current computer recording system
Monitoring and maintaining small Household Waste Recycling Centre located within the main site
General Disposal labouring and housekeeping duties.
To ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety are applied
**The Individual**:
Demonstrable experience in manual/plant operator roles
Proven experience of operating earthmoving plant
Basic computer skills required, to include data input and excel spreadsheet updating
Must be able to understand and be able to act upon written and verbal instructions
Demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Able to work on own under instruction and as part of a team.
Ability to use electronic monitoring equipment (following training)
Able to communicate effectively with members of the public and commercial customers
Willingness to accept direction/delegation
Ability to work in a Landfill environment working predominately outdoors, but sheltered
Temporary Post until May 2024
Salary : £24781.12
Grade 5
37 Hours per week
