Auction Porter

Premier Recruitment are working with our well established client based in Derby, who are looking to hire an Auction Porter for their operations in Derby.

The role is full time permanent Monday - Friday

Our client are specialist in Antiques and collectables and holds auctions on daily basis at their premises. You will be responsible for the following duties

**Auction Porter Duties**
- You will be required to handle a wide range of valuable items, from large pieces of furniture and paintings to delicate ceramic and glass,
- Assisting with the day-to-day saleroom duties
- Dealing with customers and stock items
- Assisting with the preparation of internet catalogues
- Receiving, photographing, displaying and processing lots
- Picking and packing purchased lots for dispatch
- Supporting customers with loading their vehicles
- Loading and unloading vans
- Other general duties including viewing and sale day roles.

**Auction Porter Requirements**
- Good customer service skills
- Written and spoken English
- Good computer and Internet skills
- Good attention to detail and being a fast and conscientious learner
- Have a methodological approach to work
- Experience in antiques and collectables preferable
- An interest in or experience in photography will be an advantage otherwise training will be provided
- A good work ethic
- Flexibility to vary work hours and work roles as part of a team where necessary
- Must be legally entitled to work in the UK
- Be reliable, able to cope with a physically demanding role and have a good employment track record.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £11.44 per hour
