Scanning Clerk

To assist in the smooth operation of the Practice by capturing & maintaining medical records for use in consultations & reports with adherence to the rules, regulations of scanning by using the Practice’s clinical computer system.To possess sufficient knowledge once trained to work unsupervised and by taking advice from a supervisor when appropriate.To efficiently scan data into the Practice’s clinical computer system.To uplift electronically received letters/data & to enter in the Practice’s clinical computer system.To provide cover for absence, of scanning staff, as required ensuring continuity of scanning.To effectively communicate with scanning team, doctors, nursing staff and others concerning scanning issues.To be able to manage own workload to ensure work is accurate and complete to meet targets and communicate any problems to the line manager.To work mainly on own initiative, but referring more complex issues to colleagues or Line manager.Undertake other duties as required commensurate with the post.To attend any meeting that is appropriate as necessary.To comply with School Lane Surgeries policies and procedures and implementing local policies when required.To undertake all reasonable requests from Line Manager

Working hours;
The working hours for this vacancy are Monday 8:30-14:00 & Tuesday-Friday 8:30-17:00.

We are contracted by the NHS to provide services Monday
- Friday 8:00-20:00 and Saturday 9:00-17:00. You may be asked to cover any one of these hours as a part of your working week. This would be on a rota basis and you would be given adequate notice.

Skills required;
- A positive attitude, calm demeanour and compassionate and caring nature.
- Flexible to cover sickness and holidays working on a rota basis.
- Computer literate
- Confident in dealing with the public
- Able to work under pressure as part of a team
- Excellent administration skills
