Nexus Health Group are recruiting for a Human Resources Senior Officer. The role is based at Surrey Docks Health Centre but you may be required to work at other sites within Nexus Health Group all based within SE London. This permanent position is well suited to someone who wants to work within a friendly and supportive environment.

The Human Resources Senior Officer will be responsible for providing a comprehensive Human Resources service, advice, guidance, and support to managers and employees in line with Nexus’s policies, best practice and updated legislation.

Provide a professional HR service, advice on complex and sensitive organisational and people issues to enable senior managers and managers to take appropriate action. Provide support and guidance to other HR professionals in the team on individual cases.

To maintain consistently high professional standards and act in accordance with the CIPD Code of Professional Conduct, and to be a role model for other members of the team. It is essential that a strict code of confidentiality be adhered to at all times.

**MAIN DUTIES**
- Provide first line generalist HR advice and support on terms and conditions of employment and HR policies and procedures in line with policy, practice and legislation, with a view to resolving matters on advice.
- Support the employment relations casework
- Help to interpret Nexus Policies and Procedures
- Maintain personal awareness of recognised best practice, employment case law, and any personnel requirements in the NHS sector, making use of resources such as ACAS, CIPD and other resources.
- Work independently and autonomously to manage low level to complex casework including probation, sickness performance, fixed term contract, grievance, capability or conduct issues, with the support of the HR Manager.
- Assist with supporting investigations, hearings and appeals as needed.
- Organise and manage all aspects of the family-friendly processes including maternity, paternity, adoption, parental and unpaid leave
- Conduct exit interviews with leavers
- Build and sustain positive working relationships within Nexus in order to influence decision making.
- Adopt a coaching approach to enable managers to own their decisions and develop their capabilities and skills around people management.
- Support the HR Department with organisational change programmes, redundancy and TUPE ensuring HR due diligence and documentation requirements are

**Absence and Reporting**
- Provide advice and guidance on occupational health referrals, absence management issues and return to work cases to managers.
- Provide managers with advice on how to support employees including reasonable adjustments
- Work with the Managers to assess absence and attendance data and ensure employees whose absence levels are approaching sick pay cut off point are aware, acting as the first stage support for managers, monitoring and addressing attendance performance concerns, coaching managers as appropriate.
- On a monthly basis review sickness absence, analyse the data, calculate triggers, sickness absence entitlement and liaise with Managers and Payroll accordingly.
- Review and produce a quarterly report of absence trends for the HR/Management Team.
- On a monthly basis analyse people related metrics, data and trends to make recommendations to the HR Manager and the wider team.
- Record Occupational health referrals and monitor to ensure staff attend referrals and recommendations are actioned where appropriate

**Health and Safety Management and Employee Wellbeing**
- Request risk assessment and monitor
- Review and provide advice on individual risk assessments, which may be completed, for pregnant women, people with health conditions or disabilities process or vulnerable individuals.
- Support the organisation in promoting employee and workforce wellbeing and learning from casework, EAP usage reports
- Support with the Development and Delivery of wellbeing projects.

**Development & Implementation of HR Policies, practices and guidance**
- Support and assist with training managers to understand and implement policy, guidance and practice
- Ensure all HR policies are fully implemented bringing any inconsistencies between policy and practice to the attention of the HR Manager.
- Support the HR department in developing HR documents and guidance for staff.

**Administration and General Management**
- Maintain close links with colleagues in the HR team ensuring that they are aware of any relevant issues or concerns, and working with them at all times to improve the service provided to Nexus.
- Maintain and update employee records ensuring they are up to date and held securely in accordance with GDPR.
- Regular auditing of Right to Work and People compliance checks.
- Administrative tasks such as salary increase letters and variation to contract letters, issuing of different contract types. Preparation of disciplinary & grievance outcome letters etc.
