Pertemps are currently recruiting for Courier Drivers to join one of the largest utilities companies in the Midlands. Location: Minworth - Sutton Coldfield
Pay: £12.99 per hour plus standby. Standby is a one off payment of £19.32 is not called upon and £22.95 if called upon.
Hours: Full Time - 37 Hours. 4 days on and 4 days off (day 5 would be required to be on standby) 9.25 hours per day.
Duration: 6 Month temporary assignment with the potential to be taken on as permanent.
Licences required: FULL UK with commercial experience.
Start Date: ASAP
About the role:
You will provide an industry-leading level collection service and support to the testing laboratories, Quality Technician teams and stake holders. You will be required to collect and deliver samples and consumables to the laboratories, depots and sample dropoff points as requested. You will ensure that temperature control and monitoring of the vehicle is maintained at all times. Ensure all paperwork is completed to the correct standard, quality procedures are adhered to.
Role Requirements:

- Prioritise and plan work each day to achieve fully optimised approach to achieve full run of activity within the day, be flexible in approach and be able to adapt to last minute changes in priorities
- To be able to represent the company in a professional and confident manner.
- Ensure samples are delivered to the laboratories in a good condition and at a reasonable time.
- Ensure that vehicle checks are carried out and defects reported correctly. Making sure the overall condition of the vehicle is roadworthy and within the law before driving.
- At all times, drive in a legal, safe and appropriate manner; be courteous to other road users.
- Represent the client to external stakeholders as part of any audits or site visits.
- Maintain all equipment, undertake cleaning regimes and stringent quality control checks, keeping records throughout the process, be able to identify atypical results and know how to investigate and respond appropriately.
- Deliver excellent customer service as an ambassador for the company, working in a professional manner at all times.
- Requirement to work on a shift pattern with standby to cover 24/7 operations, 365 days a year. This includes routine weekend and evening working.
**Experience**:
Essential
- Current Driving License
- Ability to complete start times between 14:00 & 17:00hrs
- Previous Refrigeration experience
Desirable
- Driving experience using commercial vehicles
- Experience of lone working and team working
- Experience of working in the outside environment/weather/livestock
- Knowledge of the UK's road network
