The role holder will create compliant and compelling strategies and content which bring the First Bus strategy to life, across all social medial channels. As a senior role within First Bus marketing team, they will be responsible for championing best-in-class social media throughout the organisation and implementing our social media strategy to grow the brand and business.

The role holder should have a strong background in consumer marketing and experience in translating a brand strategy onto social media in a way that connects and build relationships with customers.

Acting with integrity, they will role model First Bus values and behaviors (‘Our Way') in all interactions, and through effective leadership and stakeholder management, they will ensure the needs of local authorities, investors, customers, partners, and colleagues are met.

**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the implementation of our social media strategy (owned and paid) and budget across the business, with central and regional marketing teams.
- Accountability for social media's contribution to brand and commercial growth across social metrics, providing reports to relevant stakeholders to drive required growth and brand reputation.
- Ensure the brand identity is effectively communicated and consistently reflected across all social media channels, verbally and visually, and aligns with the brand strategy
- Creating social content that entertains, informs, inspires, and supports our audiences is what will earn love for our brand so this is central to our strategy.
- Working with internal stakeholders and approved external agencies, they will create social contents that enhances our external positioning with customers, local authorities and third parties
- Be at the vanguard of social media with regards to emerging platforms, formats, and trends.
- Foster a culture of creativity and testing in ways that bring value to our customers lives' and earn brand love and advocacy.
- Make sure our customers are at the heart of everything we do on social media, regarding content, community engagement, and customer service.
- Represent and reflect our different segments, understanding the nuances and making sure our brand is relevant to them.
- Support the Head of Brand Strategy in creating solutions which align with social media ‘win' themes and differentiators
- Represent First Bus in meetings with clients and prospective clients, in support of other team members
- Ensure any solutions are articulated in simple, understandable terminology and that the benefits and any associated evidence are included by the Commercial team
- Support the Head of Brand Strategy and Director of Revenue & Customer Proposition to develop First Bus's social media presence, processes and capabilities through continuous development and improvement
- Support and coach Local Business Units and Specialist Business Units, offering advice and support on the development of Social Media content and strategies where needed.

**Skills, Experience and Leadership behaviors required**
- At least 5 years' experience working for a consumer brand
- Experience in a senior social media role, with a repertoire of creative and consumer first examples to showcase ability
- Demonstrable experience in leading social strategy across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Demonstratable brand and customer growth through past social media work
- Experience embedding social media thinking into organisations
- Expert knowledge of social media platforms, algorithms, and trends
- An insatiable social and cultural curiosity and a clear understanding of current social trends and technology
- Ability to lead and motivate stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Capability to develop outline, detailed and final solutions, and articulate these, with supporting benefits and evidence
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and management skills
- A team player, wholly committed to working with and supporting their peer group and other colleagues to achieve the First Bus business strategy
- Can work at pace in a complex operating environment, and able to lead and influence the wider business ensuring there is buy-in to a shared vision for Brand, that is people and customer centric to deliver transformational change, whilst staying within a divisional governance framework
- Self-sufficient, down to earth and values driven
- Tenacious and resilient, with the capability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure
- Proven ability to analyse data at a high level to assess risk and take informed commercial decision making.
- Ability to engage with professional leaders in a network and use examples of external best practice and thought leadership to improve internal strategies.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior leaders both internally and externally.
