You must be studying towards your AAT and as long as you can demonstrate a fire in your belly to succeed - the Financial Controller will support & back you all the way.

The following progression timeline has been mapped out for you to work towards:

- First 6 months - getting to know all the processes, system and being confident with transactional finance processes
- 6-12 months - moving onto month-end and management accounts preparation training
- 12 - 18 months - working towards Assistant Accountant status

That means that by this time next year you can have achieved promotion into a more senior role thanks to the training and support that is on offer; how quickly this happens will be dictated by yourself and there is no pressure; so if this takes a little longer, then that’s absolutely fine - but it’ll be only yourself in line for that promotion; you’re not competing against the rest of the team as everyone is at different stages of their career.
