**Early Years Advanced Teaching Assistant**

**Job type**: Established
**Hours**:31 per week, term time only

**Salary**: Grade D SCP 4-6 (£19,649 - £21,695 pro-rata; actual salary £13,893 - £15,339 per year)

**Start**: As soon as possible

**Do you have experience of working with young children?**

We are recruiting for a highly motivated Advanced Teaching Assistant to join our school. You will support in our Reception class (initially) and work with children in our Early Years setting. We are a two-form entry primary school with a higher than average number of children eligible for pupil premium funding, as well as a higher than average proportion of pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Working under the direction of the class teacher, you will support in the classroom and play a key role in the children’s education. You will assist teachers in supporting pupils both on a one-to-one basis, and in small groups.

Alongside our staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
- Have relevant qualifications and experience in working with children
- Knowledge/experience of the Early Years Framework and delivering Read Write Inc would be an advantage
- Have practical experience of working with small groups of young children
- Be flexible in their approach to the needs of the children
- Have high expectations of all children
- Be willing to take part in relevant CPD in order to support the children
- Be able to work with outside agencies and communicate with parents
- Be able to be flexible and adapt day to day

**Additional requirements**:

- Two references confirming suitability for the role
- Commitment to safeguarding
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Able to provide evidence of police checks for any time spent living or working abroad
