**We're looking for you to join our team on Dartmoor
Dartmoor provides access to nature, beauty and history to many people and this post presents an exciting opportunity to deliver Dartmoor’s volunteering and community ambition. Working with the Volunteering & Community Manager, you'll support our people and build links with our local communities. If you have experience in volunteer management and community engagement then we'd like to hear from you - with a team of over 300 volunteers and relationships with many local communities and groups, this role is all about connecting with people.

This is a part time role with flexibility on your working pattern. Interviews will be held at Parke, near Bovey Tracey or a Webex option is available for those who cannot travel to the property.

Castle Drogo, Parke, Finch Foundry, and Lydford Gorge are our main visitor hubs and we also have wooded valleys, open moorland, riverside and archaeological rich landscapes. Working with volunteers and local communities is vitally important for us to achieve our aims to look after and sharing our places.

We have an established Volunteering & Community programme across Dartmoor. This role will focus on Parke to help coordinate and support the wide range of activities and projects we are involved in. Some of the partners we are currently working with include Dartmoor National Park Authority, Devon Carers, MED Theatre and River Teign Restoration Project to name but a few.

What you'll be doing:As Volunteering & Community Officer you'll support us in creating a positive, flexible and inclusive environment for existing and future volunteers, communities, and partners. Working across all departments and different sites across Dartmoor on a variety of projects, you’ll help deliver our plan to involve volunteers and communities. This will include the coordination of some of our established community led events such as the inter-school cross country run to supporting volunteer recruitment days.

Your role will be to help develop new ways of working together and deepen relationships with existing and new audiences. Working with the Volunteering & Community Manager, you will help to develop the skills our teams need to welcome new audiences.

This role may involve volunteer line management, with the expectation of some weekend and evening working by arrangement.

Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you if you can:

- Be well organised and attentive to detail
- A sound working knowledge of volunteering principles and practice
- IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge and experience of budget management

The packageThe National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
