Stroud, United Kingdom Long-term Teachers Ltd Full time

**Learning Support Assistant**

We work closely with a Primary School that is located on the outskirts of Stroud who are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant. The school is south of Stroud and the public transport is not brilliant around the school so holding a driving licence is very beneficial. The role is due to begin asap and will then continue until the end of the academic year. It is a part time position, with it being mornings only 5 days a week. This will be 9-12 every morning. This will be working alongside the team to support a child in KS2 however there is a high chance this role will eventually move onto another year group.

The school has just recently become part of an academy and so is really building up its reputation within the community. It is consistently rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted and receives feedback that the staff base are motivated and welcoming. The school needs someone who is a team player, someone who has a positive attitude and good sense of humor. Previous experience of working with SEN is key for this role, and you must have excellent English and Maths skills.

**What will you need to do on a daily basis?**
- Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting high self-esteem and independence
- Provides learning and care to support a pupil with special educational needs (SEN)
- Work with the class teacher to deliver activities
- Use your initiative to adapt activities to meet the needs of the individual
- Support pupils with the social, emotional and mental health needs, escalating concerns where appropriate
- Assist with the development and delivery of individual targets on a My Plan.

**What have Ofsted said about the School?**

“The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection. You work effectively with other leaders, staff and governors to ensure that pupils attend well and enjoy their learning. You have successfully implemented a range of activities to check the quality of teaching and learning. You use the information these glean to be robust in holding teachers to account for what their pupils achieve”.
