We are looking to appoint an Information Technology Security Officer to join the IT Department, where you will be an integral part of the Service Delivery team and be the deputy to the Service Delivery Manager. You will own the ICT security strategy and set requirements for monitoring, analysing and reporting the security posture of ICT whilst supporting the ICT technology strategy and road map which is intrinsically linked to the organisational priorities of the OPFCC, NYP and NYFRS.

There will be opportunity to participate in and sometimes lead work falling outside the service catalogue supporting projects and commissioned work as directed by the line management. This may include field work and out of hours working.

**Key responsibilities**:
As an Information Technology Security Officer, you will devise strategies and solutions designed to protect ICT infrastructure (including networks, hardware and software) from a range of criminal activity. You will specify and deliver solutions to monitor networks and systems, detect security threats ('events'), analyse and assess alarms, and report on threats and vulnerabilities, intrusion attempts and false alarms. We also want you to use your influence and negotiation skills to ensure security issues are resolved by relevant resolver groups, according to severity demonstrating key skills in Team Management.

As deputy to the Service Delivery Manager you will be a major contributor to the Service Delivery strategy and roadmap supporting the strategies of the OPFCC, NYP, NYFRS and Enable NY. Also acting as deputy ensure the smooth running of the Service Delivery Team providing input and guidance to the team and sharing your experience by coaching and mentoring the team as required.

**Requirements**:
To be successful you will:

- Hold a degree in a relevant discipline or be able to demonstrate significant experience of working in an ICT Security Team within a busy multidisciplined ICT service
- Have significant knowledge and experience of managing security incident response and vulnerability management.
- Be a problem solver with astute analytical skills in a customer focused environment
- Be able to form effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders using good communication skills to challenge these stakeholders in relation to security matters.
- Hold one of the following qualifications or have demonstrable experience of work in a Security function in a regulated environment:
o CompTIA Security+

o Certified Ethical Hacker

o CISP

o Certified Data Protection Officer

The nature of the work is very sensitive and attention to detail is vital in all areas. As such, previous experience of working in the public sector including procurement and ideally in an emergency services setting such as Police or Fire and Rescue Services is desirable.
