We are looking for Communications Data Investigators, the role is full-time, permanent and based at our Force Headquarters, Ripley.

You’ll play an important role, assisting officers on a variety of criminal investigations, including serious crime, life at risk incidents and cyber-crime. Our work involves helping officers protect the most vulnerable in the community and bringing offenders to justice.

As a Communications Data Investigator, you will advise and assist officers, senior officers and external partners in all aspects of investigations relating to communications data.

Acquiring communications data from Telecommunications Operators and Postal Operators, you will ensure that the Force is compliant with the Investigatory Powers Act 2016. This will include producing relevant documentation to assist with processes and procedures and ensuring that data is used effectively and securely in support of operations and investigations.

If you are looking for your first role in Crime and Intelligence or looking for professional development, then we will support you with training in all aspects of the role. This includes a mandatory two-week training course in order to attain the National SPOC Accreditation. (Please note, part of this course does include a one-week residential stay.)

Although no prior knowledge is needed, you should be computer literate, with experience of inputting and retrieving data from computer systems.

Please note that you will be required to be on call one week in every three, for which an allowance is payable in addition to the salary advertised.
