Specialist Worker in New Psychoactive Drugs

This is an exciting opportunity to develop the New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) pathway in Islington within the Better Lives substance misuse service. Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust are the lead providers of this service and work in partnership with WDP and Humankind to deliver treatment to residents of Islington borough. The post-holder will take a lead in developing this pathway for New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) within the existing service. The post will involve working with people using drugs such as crystal meth, GHB, ketamine, mephedrone and Spice. A large part of the role will be working with LGBTQ clients involved in the chemsex scene. They will offer one to one session as well as developing and offering a group that will be able to further support clients. The post-holder will work collaboratively with both statutory and non-statutory services to engage clients who use NPS, which will include running specialist clinics in services such as Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) Services in Acute Trusts. They will also work collaboratively to build packages of care for clients to ensure they receive person centred care
