CPC, part of Farnell & Avnet, is currently recruiting for the role of Inventory Specialist / Buyer based in Preston. If you have a passion for inventory management and/or customer service this could be the next role for you

Our new team member is someone who is able to build relationships and work collaboratively with other departments such as product and finance, contact centre, goods in and stores to schedule the delivery of product to meet new catalogue and promotion deadlines. Part of this role will also be to minimise excess and obsolete stock and progress the return of product to suppliers where appropriate.

Our team work hard to continuous improve ‘housekeeping’ standards with regards to the maintenance of data, resolution of queries and as such, are looking for someone who is organised and works proactively to identify and resolve issues such as product shortages quickly.

This is an ideal role for someone who has some knowledge of dealing with inventory, looking to step into your next role where you can develop and grow further.

What will you be doing?
- Inputting acknowledged dates
- Expediting deliveries with suppliers
- Collect missing documentation
- Data cleanse activities
- Work with Accounts to help release held accounts
- Work with Stores to help reduce frozen and lost stock

What skills do you need?
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Methodical with the ability to work through established company processes, procedures and standards
- Ability to problem solve
- Strong written and spoken English
- Effective time management / multi‐tasking
- Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail
- Experience of Supply Chain / Purchasing systems preferred but not essential
