**This is the job** Joining the AA as our Financial Risk and Controls Manager, you will be focused on balance sheet control and finance risk reporting across the group ensuring that any risks or issues are managed appropriately and efficient.

You will play a key role to drive balance sheet controls across the entire AA Group, taking responsibility for the reporting the status of balance sheet reconciliations and monitoring of compliance with group policy.

**What will I be doing?**:

- Drive balance sheet control across the AA Group by leading monthly balance sheet review meetings to understand areas of risk and variances to expectation.
- Assist with monthly Quality Assurance testing of balance sheet reconciliations. Challenge of completeness and quality of balance sheet reconciliations
- Responsibility for the reporting of status of balance sheet reconciliations across the AA group and monitoring of compliance with group policy
- Follow up on actions from balance sheet review meetings and quality assurance testing.
- Monitoring of controls as part of financial control framework
- Monitoring of compliance with group policies and raising issues if for example, quality of reconciliations is not up to the required standard. This involves working closely with the business Financial Controllers and reporting progress to the Director ofFinance - Finance controls and technical accounting, Group Director Finance and Operations and business Finance Directors.
- Lead the Finance Risk Reporting for AA Finance, including partnering Internal Audit and Group Risk, ensuring the roll out of group risk and control standards and leading monthly finance risk forum
- Maintain the Finance risk register, monitor and review controls and risks and perform quarterly snap checks

**What do I need?** Essential:

- Experienced Finance professional within a risk and/or controls position
- Demonstrable Balance Sheet experience
- Fully qualified Accountant
- Strong understanding of risks, processes and controls and motivation to improve financial control across the business in particular around balance sheet controls
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with both Financial and non-Finance individuals by also providing detailed reports and recommendations
- Excellent and proven stakeholder engagement and management skills
