Warehouse Operative

Main responsibilities:
- Perform soldering tasks on electronic components and circuit boards
- Read and interpret work instructions and blueprints to ensure accurate soldering
- Use power tools and hand tools to assemble and disassemble components
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
**Requirements**:
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of soldering techniques
- Experience using power tools in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Note: Prior experience as a solderer or in a similar role is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate the necessary skills and aptitude.
Role and further responsibilities:
**Supervision of all Testing Procedures**
- Operate and maintain all test equipment in line with Health and Safety policies
- Carry out safe and effective testing on products as required
- Develop and operate product batch, specification, and quality testing programme
- Maintain effective reportage on product testing and communicate results clearly
- Ensure all testing areas are clearly marked and kept clean
**General Warehouse**
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
- Processing orders
- Operating IT systems
- Ensuring delivery deadlines are met
- Maintenance of equipment
**Returns**
- Processing returns
- Testing products
- Filling out test reports
**Stock**
- Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
- Maintaining layout and ensure efficient space utilisation
- Monitoring stock of packaging and accessories and re-ordering
- Ensuring a good rotational stock system
**Deliveries**
- Booking in stock and liaising with the office when deliveries have arrived
- Testing products from new deliveries and filling out test reports
**Display boards**
- Making displays and prioritising customer orders
- Maintaining high standards whilst ensuring deadlines are met
- Monitoring stock of display boards
**Bespoke LED Strip Production**
- Responsibility for maintaining a safe and effective production area and equipment
- Ensure relevant tools, accessories and associated products are available to fulfil demand
- Communicate with the office team to prioritise workload and maximise effective workflow
- Oversee production carried out by other staff - focus on safety, quality and meeting deadlines
- Cutting, tailing and soldering striplights to customer’s specific requirements
- Testing, quality control and labelling of LED strip and accessories
- Maintaining a high standard whilst ensuring deadlines are met
**Exhibitions**
- Responsible for transporting equipment to and from exhibitions if required
- Assisting in the set up and breakdown of the exhibition stand if required
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Proven work experience in warehousing
- Lighting / Electrical qualifications or experience are favorable but not essential
