NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

About the role

**Hear from the Hiring Manager**
- "As the Planner (Construction), you will be located in the Site Construction Office, reporting to the Construction Manager. You will be responsible for work control scheduling for the Site’s Asset Care function and oversight and assurance of project planning of work delivered through the Site Construction Office. You will be required to work alongside Project Managers in managing the Asset Care project schedule looking for opportunities to accelerate work, identify and resolve schedule clashes and providing updates as required to the Construction and Integration Managers." _

**Please note the contractual hours for this role are 07.25 - 17.00 Monday - Thursday, perfect for someone looking for a four day working week.**

**Key Deliverables**
- Provide support and specialist planning knowledge to the project team by utilising Primavera software.
- Liaise with stakeholders in the Projects and Enablers teams.
- Analyse project risks and impacts and make recommendations.
- Review contractors/ suppliers schedules that have been submitted for acceptance and make recommendations to the Asset Care Project Delivery team on the formal acceptance or not of that schedule.
- Review schedules for deliverability including providing advice where resource smoothing is required, identifying efficiencies in resource planning as appropriate.
- Provide oversight and assurance of activities delivered through the Construction Office, identifying areas where efficiencies in schedule and cost can be identified.
- As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence.

**Qualifications & Experience**

**Essential: -**
- NQF level 5 or equivalent significant, demonstrable planning experience.
- Considerable experience within a relevant project environment.
- Understands the impact on schedules from a highly technical and regulated industry.
- Working knowledge of the company planning tool or similar software.
- Significant demonstrable experience of constructing, statusing and reading logic driven, resource and cost loaded project schedules.
- Significant experience of rolling up and summarising working schedules.
- Good understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Good understanding of Critical Path Analysis (CPA) / Programme.
- Evaluation & Review Technique (PERT).

**Desirable: -**
- Considerable experience of project controls within the nuclear industry or within a contracting or other project management organisation.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Risk Analysis.
