We are keen to have a Nursing Associate join our team of registered nurses as we feel this is a role that will fit well within our existing workforce structure.

Nursing associate is a new role being introduced into the health and care workforce in England from 2019. Nursing associates are intended to bridge a gap between health and care assistants, and registered nurses
- Nursing associates act in the best interests of people, putting them first and providing nursing care that is person-centred, safe and compassionate
- Nursing associates play an active role as members of interdisciplinary teams, collaborating and communicating effectively with nurses, a range of other health and care professionals and lay carers
- Nursing associates contribute to the provision of care for people, including those with complex
needs
The Bostonian is an 18 bedded Haematology and Oncology ward. The ward has a high acuity, fast paced clinical admissions setting that cares for acutely unwell patients as a result of haematological and oncological conditions such as spinal cord compression and neutropenic sepsis as well as facilitating the delivery of chemotherapy.
The ward admits patients as either an emergency through our new Oncology Assessment Unit, self-referral, via outpatient clinics or electively for chemotherapy, oncology and haematology treatment.
The healthcare team is supported by a team of healthcare support workers, Band 5 nurses, band 6 deputy sisters, a clinical educator, and housekeepers as well as the ward manager. We have a medically engaged team who also provide ward based training and education to all staff.
The team are very caring, friendly, passionate and compassionate and provide an exceptionally high standard of nursing care. We are an encouraging team and care about our teams wellbeing and work life balance.
