**This role entails**

We have a fantastic opportunity for a journalist to join our news team at ITV Border. This is a high profile, on-screen role for someone who would like to live in the beautiful Scottish Borders and tell the stories that matter to its communities. You may choose to be based in our office in Selkirk or work from home if you live in the area.

We are a multi-platform operation so you will be enthusiastic about developing an online presence through our web sites and via social media interaction.

**To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the Minimum role criteria**:

- Proven track record of finding and delivering impactful, original, high-quality & distinctive journalism
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team
- Proven technical ability (self shooting, editing & digital) to give the story maximum impact as part of a package, online report, 'blog' or as a 'live'
- A strong knowledge of media law & compliance and the ability to exercise excellent editorial judgement
- A good knowledge of ITV News Border

**The Key role criteria is as follows**:

- The ability to demonstrate resilience & determination with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team.
- An understanding of the importance of Diversity & Inclusion.
- Experience of using Social Media as a promotional tool.
- On-Screen Journalists are required to provide their own means of transport to and from location. The vehicle must be appropriately insured, taxed and maintained. ITV will cover mileage expenses in line with HMRC regulations.
- This is a demanding role requiring the individual to work long and sometimes unsociable hours at short notice
- This is a physically demanding role requiring individuals to transport, carry and operate a camera (and associated equipment) on a regular basis. A pre-employment health check is required.
- The rostered hours for this role will include weekend, early and late working.
