This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic and highly creative designer to join the busy design department at Times Higher Education (THE), playing a key role in the development and success of a new and exciting venture - THE Creative Services.

Working with our inhouse commercial teams; Creative Services brings together content creation; design; branding and promotion to provide typical agency services direct to THE’s clients. You will be a key component in this delivery, bringing the expertise you have gained in similar design roles to deliver top quality creative results that really engage audiences.

Your creativity and design skill will be obvious, in that you thrive on creating high-quality; effective and engaging designs across multiple channels, and are comfortable responding to clients briefs, interpreting and developing bespoke creative responses as required.

Your portfolio will demonstrates this, containing great ideas; varied solutions and executions; an impeccable eye for detail and a good sense for typography and layout across all channels, as well as a good knowledge of applicable design trends (not only in the Higher Education sphere).

You will have at least 3-5 years relative design experience and looking to take the next step in your career. You will have some experience of leading your own projects, collaborating with relevant design freelancers and commissioning image makers to deliver great creative treatments. This is not a junior role, nor is it one that solely offers UX/UI opportunities, other than ensuring the audience and users are central to all design thinking and solutions.

Some HTML and website CMS experience would be beneficial, as would a good working knowledge of Shorthand, After Effects and video editing skills. You will have excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign; Illustrator and Photoshop especially), as well as Microsoft programs (PowerPoint; Word; Excel etc.).

You will report to and work closely with the Lead Designer, helping them define the creative scope and output for Creative Services, also working alongside the wider creative and branded content teams. You will be adept in managing your projects; time and multiple tasks effectively, while a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and hunger to continually push yourself and your creative work in this busy but fulfilling role would be a distinct advantage.

Creative Services is a start-up within THE and offers real potential for continual growth of the work; the team and your own design career within a very collaborative design team for a global; multi-faceted business that is actively working to propel its brand and creative offering forward, helping our clients successfully achieve their goals along the way.

This role is based at our London headquarters and, even though we are currently in a period of hybrid remote/office working, there will be occasions where in-office attendance will be expected.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To support the Creative Lead across all aspects of Creative Services design work and, on occasion, have the skill set to deputise in their absence.
- To support THE Creative Services team members with any creative requests and, when required, the wider THE business at the line manager’s discretion.
- Working with the Creative Lead and other Creative Services staff members, you will help interpret and answer briefs to provide accurate responses and effective creative solutions.
- To deliver high standard creative in a timely fashion (planning and prioritising projects and multiple tasks as necessary), whether in conjunction with other THE staff members or working independently.
- To work with client’s own brand & style guidelines and, when required, to help create these as part of the solution to a relevant brief.
- To represent design at internal and external project meetings, when required, being a knowledgeable sounding board with the ability to cohesively present your design ideas to senior team members; internal and external stakeholders.
- To ensure best practice is adhered to throughout the design and production process.
