**Senior IT Technician, South Gloucestershire, £26,000- £30,000**

An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Senior IT Technician to join a growing educational organisation. You will be responsible for providing and assisting with technical 1st/2nd line support. On a daily basis, you will support IT equipment, software andother related technology. Reporting into the IT Manager, you will also be involved in IT projects which may consist of hardware and software upgrades and migrations.

The company has invested heavily in updating its IT infrastructure over the past few years including virtual server infrastructure at most sites, upgrading core switches and extending wireless networks, online backup systems, centralised managed printingsystems.

**About you**:
The successful Senior IT Technician will need previous 2nd Line IT Support experience with a passion for learning and developing skills within IT. Previous of experience of supporting a variety of devices such as Windows computers, Windows Laptops, iPads,plus systems such as Windows Server and Microsoft 365. A good knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and Microsoft 365 Administration would be highly desirable.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide and assist with coordinating technical support to users relating to all IT, telecoms and AV equipment (henceforth referred to as "ITequipment").
- When working at any of the sites, monitor and respond to support requests sent to that site’s ICT Support Mail box or answer phone calls/requests for support and respond as necessary.
- Ensure that all existing internal SLAs are honored through effective and accessible communication with appropriate groups ofusers.
- Provide limited Level 3 support to the site by checking network and server settings and with the agreement of the Trust IT Manager, make limited changes ensuring that they are appropriatelydocumented.
- Request Level 3 support from the Trust IT Manager wherenecessary.
- Maintain network access rights including creating new user accounts and archiving oldones.
- Ensure that all IT equipment is kept clean, tidy and in a safecondition
- Monitor and carry out routine and non-routine checking, maintenance, calibration, cleaning and fault investigation.
- Co-ordinate the provision and support of IT equipment associated with assemblies, meetings and other events.
- Prepare IT equipment for open evenings and other similar events that will occasionally require out of hours working.
- Diagnose and resolve workstation operating system and softwareproblems.
- Assist all staff with technical issues and undertake other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post.

Having a driving licence and vehicle is essential for this position.

Also having worked in an educational environment before is a massive plus.
