**About the role**
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a **MOBILE FITTER **to join our Plant & Fleet business unit to work across the UK**.**

**Role Purpose**:

- To provide Depot & Mobile support to our busy Plant Operations here at Bottesford and various sites around the UK.
- You will be able to look at a machine and identify any fault or assess any necessary repairs, arrange spare parts and co-ordinate the manpower resources required to complete and carry out the repairs in all aspects of the Plant with supervision.

**What you'll be doing**

As a Mobile Fitter, you will have the following accountabilities:
Diagnose faults, service, strip repair and test engines, transmissions and fuel injection systems under supervision:

- Electrics
- To be able to read and work from electrical drawings for 12v and 24v systems
- Fault finding
- Charging systems and batteries
- To install an accessory using the correct procedures and equipment
- Hydraulics
- To read and work from hydraulic drawings to diagnose faults correctly
- Test hydraulic systems using flow meters and pressure gauges
- Fit hydraulic components and set up and test
- Use hydraulic test rig to determine efficiency of a rotary table
- Make up a hydraulic hose assembly
- Welding use stick or mig welder to carry out minor repairs or to attach a non structural component
- To include basic bench fitting
- Marking out, drilling and tapping holes
- Use of lathe or milling machine to manufacture a component part

- Can achieve desired results while working to strict deadlines
- Works well alone or within a team environment
- Has the ability when required to go the extra mile to deliver results
- Good business knowledge and a clear understanding of system requirements.

Experience and qualifications:

- Construction Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Piling Rigs
- CSCS NVQ Level Three Plant Maintenance
- IPAF / Harness
- CSC Card
