**Job Role**

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced In-House Counsellor to join our team at Greenleaf. As an In-House Counsellor, you will play a crucial role in supporting children and young people through trauma, providing them with the necessary emotional support and guidance during their stay.

You will hold weekly counselling sessions with the young people within Greenleaf services. You'll support our staff teams and provide guidance to them on how to support the young people in their care. You will deliver attachment and trauma training to staff. You will be involved in planning and sourcing therapeutic resources for the young people as appropriate for each individual's needs.

Greenleaf provides a home for young people not a children’s home. We believe that greatness starts small: it’s the little things that make an enormous difference both for our young people and our team. Our primary aim is to create an environment of constant warmth, predictability and responsiveness to need, with the opportunity for our young people to experience new models of adult/child and peer group relationships. It is our belief that, in these new relationships, young people can experience conflict with positive rather than negative resolutions.

If you are a compassionate and dedicated professional with a psychology or integrative counselling background, and you have experience supporting children and young people through trauma, we would love to hear from you. Join our team at Greenleaf and make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals.

**Benefits**

With greater expectations come greater rewards. If you’re selected to become part of the Greenleaf family, you’ll not only enjoy a salary that’s higher that the sector average, but you’ll also enjoy other benefits, such as pension and a generous holiday entitlement. Being a part of the Greenleaf family will give you the opportunity to work within a close-knit team in an environment where your skills and experience can be developed, while also leaving a positive impact on young peoples’ lives.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Possess a deep understanding of trauma and the recovery process, ensuring appropriate support is provided.
- Conduct at least fortnightly face-to-face counselling sessions with our young people.
- Display flexibility in your approach to ensure young people have the best access to sessions and required therapies.
- Support and lead assessments required for our young people.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with various health professionals to ensure the emotional and wellbeing needs of young individuals are met.
- Build strong relationships with young people and their staff teams.
- Oversee the therapy pathway for young individuals throughout their entire stay at Greenleaf.
- Provide external well-being support to our staff teams if required.

**Essential Criteria**
- Possession of a psychology degree or integrative counsellor degree
- Demonstrated experience in supporting children and young people through trauma
- Experience in residential childcare
- Full UK Driving Licence

**Desirable Skills**
- Knowledge or experience in supporting referrals within residential care
- Knowledge or experience in implementing Soulihall approach

**Working Arrangements**

This position offers a hybrid working approach, with opportunities to work from home or our head office. However, it is essential to conduct weekly/fortnightly face-to-face sessions in our services.
