Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to undertake a number of duties, including:

There are a number of learning opportunities for Aspiring Psychologists who will join our community of Assistant Psychologists, including a regular forum which supports in the development of junior Psychological Professionals to the next stage of their careers.

By joining NELFT you will become part of the Community of Psychological Professions and have opportunities to learn from many different groups of Psychological Professionals, including Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Psychotherapists, CBT Therapists, Family and Systemic Therapists and others.

The Aspiring Psychologist posts will be paid at Band 4 (£23,949-£26,282 pro rata for part time) for a period of 12 months. Each role will include two 6 month placements. We have a range of full and part time roles to offer. The following full time roles (37.5 hours) are available in the clinical areas outlined below:

- Forensic Psychology / Primary Care Psychology (Redbridge)
- Refugee Service/ Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Psychology (Waltham Forest)
- Eating Disorders / CAMHS (Essex)
- Psychosis Psychology Service / Primary Care Psychology (Havering)
- CAMHS / Early Intervention in Psychosis (Barking and Dagenham)
- CAMHS / Complex, secondary care adult mental health Psychology (Redbridge)
- Adolescent inpatient unit / Primary Care Psychology (Barking and Dagenham)
- Early Intervention in Psychosis / Autistic Spectrum Disorder Service (Barking and Dagenham)
- CAMHS / Psychosis (Redbridge)

A number of part time roles are available (either 1 day per week or 2.5 days per week). These will also be offered as a combination of two six month placements in the following areas:

- Psychosis Psychology pathway (Barking and Dagenham)
- Psychosis Psychology pathway (Havering)
- Complex adult mental health (Havering)
- CAMHS (Waltham Forest)
- CAMHS (Essex)
- Kent and Medway Adolescent Inpatient Unit
- Primary Care Psychology (Waltham Forest/ Barking and Dagenham)
- Psychotherapy (Waltham Forest/Barking and Dagenham/Redbridge)
- Member of an ethnic minority
