Haslemere, United Kingdom Just Global HR Full time

The Sports Pavilion at Woolmer Hill Sports Ground is managed by Woolmer Hill Sports Association (WHSA) on behalf of the community sports clubs based at Woolmer Hill or using the facilities.

WHSA is recruiting one or two new Kitchen Supervisors, as follows:
To cover a 08.30-4.30 (approx) shift during the day on Saturdays and Sundays during the main winter sports season - September to April.

Occasional weekday evenings.

We are looking for someone that is organised with a mature approach and is able to cover both days, or two people that are able to cover a day each.

**Position**:
The Supervisor will be assisted by a KP and will be expected to maintain a very high level of cleanliness, and to complete all the necessary FSA checks and paperwork. It will probably be necessary to agree a further monthly session (say for half a day during the mid-week) to deal with all the routine and outstanding cleaning issues.

This is a customer facing role, especially during the serving of the match teas. Many of the sports pavilion users see the site as their sporting home, so expect a friendly sporting environment where you are serving men and women teams typically on a Saturday and parents and junior players on a Sunday.

This role could be done by one or two people who would like to job share.

All sales transactions will be handled by the bar staff, so there will not be any cash or card handling.

It is envisaged that the Supervisor will be fully responsible for the complete operation of the kitchen, for all cleaning, for all record keeping, for all stock requirements, and any other start of day and end of day activities.

A shift will start around 08:30am, will normally last until the late afternoon, but will be dependent on the number of sports fixtures on that day.

There are three main strands to the preparation of food, firstly the prep of bacon and sausage baps to go on sale from 09:00am when the clubhouse first opens, then the prep of a limited range of food to go on sale from 11:00am, for example burger and chips, and then most importantly the preparation of the team teas which follow each match to be available in batches throughout the afternoon starting from around 1.00pm for example chilli and rice, or sausages and mash.

The match teas are fundamental to the operation of the kitchen, with typically a menu agreed, planned and prepared for the day, which may be served after say half a dozen matches, with about 25 to 35 teas for each match. The match teas being served according to a schedule, which depends on the fixtures for that day, over a three to four hour period.

This role is one that can develop into a much more creative and operational one for someone who wants to expand and grow both their skillset and the pavilion as a venue. Its a real opportunity to become part of something that we are aiming to grow and improve substantially in the coming months

**Requirements**:
Have experience of working in a busy kitchen

Familiar with food Hygiene levels or willingness to train to required standards

Ability to think proactively and look for solutions to catering needs and requirements

**Other information**:
Benefits will include designated parking immediate outside the Sports Pavilion, free food and soft drinks during the session, and normally include a paid 30-minute break if the session extends over 6 hours.

We are situated on the outskirts of the main town of Haslemere to the west near the A3, so living close by or use of a car will be essential.
