CONTRACT: Permanent

HOURS: 40 hours per week

SHIFT PATTERN: 5/7 days - 10pm - 6am

PAY RATE: £10.75 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

The Night Shift Periodic Cleaner will provide a comprehensive service ensuring a high quality service is delivered to the client. You will represent ABM as part of an onsite team providing periodic cleaning services and other ad hoc tasks whilst maintaining a professional image to our staff, suppliers, clients and our clients customers at all times. You are responsible for general upkeep for and appearance of buildings and surrounding areas, ensuring they are maintained in accordance with ABM and our clients required standards. Reporting to ABM nominated supervisors and managers you will cultivate relationships with our clients and managers alongside staff, to ensure an efficient and consistent level of operational performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To carry out periodic tasks, maintaining the cleanliness of the fabric of the building, inside and out.
These will include but not be limited to: high level dusting and vacuuming, deep cleaning of floor, windows, steelwork, matting, external canopies, windows, walls, paving, gum removal etc.
- Any other reasonable associated tasks as directed by the ABM nominated supervisors and managers.
- Ensure work area is clean, well maintained and all equipment is secure.
- To be flexible and responsive to changing priorities fulfilling requirements.
- To be knowledgeable of all cleaning related tasks, so that at the commencement of the shift, current scheduled activity is supported, without the need for specific direction.
- To be sufficiently cognisant of the building layout to be able to service required areas.
- Prioritise jobs according to urgency allowing duties to be completed with any time allocations to the necessary quality, planning around periodic tasks.

Escalate any issues to the ABM nominated supervisors and managers. Communicate regularly with ABM nominated supervisors and managers to obtain feedback on quality, service and care.
- To fully participate in the performance review process and personal development planning
- Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post.
- To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.
- To contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the teams in which you work.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

A reliable and flexible approach, as some tasks can only be carried out in daylight.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Promote a clean and safe working environment by ensuring all tasks are carried out in line with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are applied in complying with legislation and company policy and procedure.
- Maintain critical standards for professionalism, service, speed and quality assurance.
- Adhere with new policies and procedures to ensure that a respectful workplace exists.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods or a willingness to learn.
- High attention to detail.
- An ability to work under pressure.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- This is an active role that requires you to be physically fit.

Essential requirements:

- Sound communications skills.
- Demonstrate initiative in the absence of supervision, accepting responsibility.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes and other compliance policies.
- Executing duties in a manner which minimises the incidents and accidents within your Department.
- The staff member must be available throughout the duration of the designated shift.
