**Children and Young Person’s Therapeutic Support Worker - fixed-term for 2 years (with possible extension) - NJC 17 £26,845 per annum**

Employed by Nott’s SVS Services, working in partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals Trust, this is an exciting opportunity to provide therapeutic support to children and young people who have accessed services at the Nottinghamshire Hub of the East Midlands Children and Young Peoples Sexual Assault Service.

**Location**
With a base in Nottingham City Centre (NG1) the Children and Young Person’s Therapeutic Support Worker will work across Nottingham City.

**Hours of work**

22.5 hours per week, worked over 3 days Monday-Friday. Days to be agreed.

**Job purpose**
We are looking for experienced Children and Young Person’s Therapeutic Support Worker to provide sensitive, client-centred, non-judgmental support to survivors, aged 13-17 years, of rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse.

**Responsibilities**
- To be responsible for the triaging of children and young people, aged 13-17 years, that have been referred for support coordinating the referral process from initial contact through to referrals to the appropriate agency, including safeguarding where appropriate.
- To provide a holistic needs assessment, initial and on-going support to the client and their families and carers implementing the appropriate processes to ensure that the clients’ holistic needs are met including referrals to appropriate local services.
- To provide up to 10 short term support sessions.
- To provide expert information and advocacy support for clients referred by EMCYPSAS who have been affected by sexual violence.

**Essential experience, qualifications and skills**
- A certificate or equivalent in counselling.
- Demonstrable experience working with children and young people in a supporting capacity.
- Knowledge of issues experienced by children and young people, particularly in relation to rape and sexual assault.
- Experience of devising and coordinating support plans.
- Experience of carrying out holistic risk and needs assessments and making safeguarding referrals.

Applicants will be required to work and travel across Nottinghamshire.
