**An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Toolmaker / Die Maintenance Engineer to start work at an established car part manufacturer in Gloucester**In this role, you will be responsible for working to strict safety and quality requirements to achieve daily production goals, including the maintenance and repair of press tooling, modification of press tools as needed, and new press tool making. You willalso assist production teams to achieve targets by addressing tooling problems in the press and performing preventative maintenance.
**Key Responsibilities of the Toolmaker/Die Maintenance Engineer**:

- Promote a culture of safety and adherence to company Health & Safety and environmental standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and support 5S activities on the shop floor
- Follow instructions and guidelines to ensure maximum effectiveness and safety
- Participate in training and development activities for personal and team advancement
- Work in a small team unsupervised, reporting directly to the Tool Room Coordinator
- Maintenance and repair of press tooling (transfer and progression)
- Identification and execution of necessary modifications to press tools
- Try out of new press tools
- Assistance to production teams in achieving targets by addressing tooling problems in the press
- Preventative maintenance

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Previous busy factory/manufacturing experience (preferably in the automotive industry)
- Willingness to multi-skill and learn products and processes
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and complete required production paperwork
- Problem-solving skills
- Welding skills (advantageous)
- Competent use of mills and grinders
- Experience with press tooling (especially draw and progression)
- Knowledge of material problem-solving
- Ability to prioritise work to meet the demands of production

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Tool-making apprenticeship or relevant experience
- Experience working to deadlines and targets
- Competent use of mills and grinders
- Excellent attendance record
Offering a competitive salary and benefits package, including 25 days of holiday (mostly fixed with plant shutdowns) + 8 bank holidays, overtime pay, and the potential for advancement within the company. The role involves working a 2-shift pattern on a rotabasis, with a 20% shift allowance on the PM shift. Workwear will be provided.
