**Main Purpose of Job**:
Reporting to the UK SHE Manager, responsible for ensuring** **Safety, Health and Environmental compliance on site, driving improvements, and delivering SH&E best practice.

Responsible for providing influential, pragmatic, and practical health and safety direction for the UK sites.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Ensure all employees and third parties comply with the Company’s Environment, Health and Safety Policy and that safety practices and legislation practices are adopted and adhered to
- Co-ordinates, and assists with Environmental, Health and Safety policy and practice, making recommendations for the implementation of new policies and procedures in order to drive safe behaviours and an improvement in safety culture
- Maintain SH&E management systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, the site’s environmental permits, safety reports and certification
- Assist each department to ensure appropriate Risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place.
- Supports Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors with embedding SHE Procedures and practices on the site
- Assist with the identification of competency needs for employee’s delivery of required training, and maintaining the training matrix
- Track and report on an agreed set of SHE KPI’s
- Maintain and update all relevant SH&E records
- Manage the site safety committee ensuring representation across each department with a suitable escalation process
- Assist with regulatory and compliance audits
- Conducts internal audits to evaluate SHE systems and procedures, and identify and suggest improvements
- Investigates, or where appropriate, assists others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents, near misses and non-conformances and coordinates necessary steps to prevent a recurrence
- Assists in the correct selection of PPE and RPE

- Be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to your role; Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the Company.

**Safety, Health and Environment**
- Carry out all activities in line with the Company’s SH&E rules and guidelines
- Always wear Personal Protection Equipment as required. Take responsibility for your own PPE ensuring appropriate storage and care
- Always work in a manner safe to yourself and others and report any hazards immediately
- Ensure all staff and visitors operate in compliance with Safety Regulations
- Make yourself aware of all Emergency procedures and Responses
- Ensure a thorough knowledge of your Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Full responsibility for the safety of team members
- Actively participate in addressing Safety, Health and Environmental issues affecting the production areas, ensuring the relevant S, H&E checks are carried out.

**Qualifications/ Knowledge & Experience**

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- A NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
- Process safety certificate or equivalent

**Desirable**:

- A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- Membership of a professional body and Evidence of CPD
- Environmental qualification

**Specific Knowledge, Experience & Skills**
- Previous experience in carrying out risk assessments and procedure writing
- Previous experience working with management systems, permit to work processes, and ability to demonstrate a full understanding of current legislation.
- Ability to challenge current working practices in a practical and engaging way
- Strong communication and engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels in the organisation
- Experience of multifunctional working
