**SUNLIGHT DEVELOPMENT TRUST LIMITED**

Sunlight Development Trust (SDT) is a charity and development trust created to tackle health and social inequality through community development. The charity is based at the Sunlight Centre in North Gillingham and delivers support and services both within Medway and outside of the area. Income earned from the Trust’s activities is used in a variety of ways to create local social impact.

**THE TRUST’S CURRENT ACTIVITIES**
- managing the Sunlight Centre, providing affordable facilities and meeting space for local community members, community groups and service providers
- delivering services relating to health and wellbeing funded by grants and contracts
- supporting community development and promoting social inclusion through activities, events and volunteering
- managing an industry standard digital recording studio
- managing a community radio station staffed primarily by volunteers

**JOB SUMMARY**
- The primary purpose of this role is managing all aspects of the Trust’s Social Media activity
- The post holder will be expected to:

- To support other members of the Trust’s staff team to identify opportunities for social media activity.
- To actively champion Social Media activity within the Trust and to develop staff, trustees and volunteers understanding of the impact of social media activity.
- To manage and publish content on specific social media platforms of benefit to the Trust.
- To provide performance reports relating social media activity impact
- To develop brand guidelines for the Trust to be used on all social media platforms.
- To develop and deliver digital skills services for Sunlight
- To uphold and enhance the reputation and values of Sunlight, raising its profile and influence for community benefit.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **The Social Media Officer will work with Trustees and staff team to implement the organisation’s social media strategy and objectives**. **Work with the Services Manager and other teams’ members to implement the social media strategy.**:

- Oversee the management and development of social media activity for the Trust.
- Management

The post holder will not have any staff management responsibility.
- Manage and develop all social media platforms across the organisation.
- Develop methods to monitor the impact of social media activity for the Trust.
- Be a source of information so that staff, volunteers and external partners are aware of the scope of social media activity and its impact.
- **Financial management ** **The postholder has budget responsibility for a well-defined and agreed social media activity budget.**:

- The post holder is responsible for cash handling and for completing financial records for the café and retail outlet.
- Public relations, marketing and brand awareness

Promote awareness of Sunlight and its work and protect and enhance the reputation and profile of the organisation:

- Help to develop Sunlight’s public profile by working to agreed standards and always maintaining the public reputation of Sunlight.
Ensure that public relations, marketing and communication policy and strategies are adhered to as part of this role.

- A good standard of education
- A qualification in marketing or social media

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of managing social media activity for a similar organisation.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a wide range of people.
- Affinity to the non-profit sector and social enterprise
- Knowledge of voluntary sector and social enterprise operational issues
- Experience of designing marketing material
- Experience of designing, developing and delivering skills development courses.

**KNOWLEDGE**
- A good working knowledge of the main social media platforms; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter Tik Tok
- An understanding of Social Media and Marketing Principles.
- Understanding of the link between Social Media Activity and Charity Fundraising
- Understanding of issues surrounding the use of digital resources for vulnerable adults
- Specialist knowledge of Data Protection Regulations
