**Job description**:

- This exciting role sits in DSIT’s China and Indo-Pacific team in the International Strategy division.
- This role is responsible for leading on DSIT's strategic engagement with some of our most important partners within the critical Indo-Pacific region, including India, Australia and Singapore. Engagement with these countries is crucial to the delivery of the Indo-Pacific Tilt and International Technology Strategy. You will identify opportunities for further deepening our engagement across science and tech with these countries - an area that is right at the top of the political agenda**Person specification**:
Working with our overseas network and policy leads, you will support the negotiations of new partnerships with priority partners across DSIT’s interests, which requires making decisions (often at pace) and strong project management skills to deliver. You will also be responsible for working to implement existing agreements— tracking delivery, reporting on and advising the implementation.

You will build and maintain relationships with a broad range of important stakeholders, including the overseas network and Embassies in London, to aid the delivery of our engagements. You will also work closely with colleagues in other government departments, including FCDO, DBT and the Cabinet Office, to formulate and implement policy. You will have the opportunity to build deep expertise on complex science and tech policies for these countries.

Your work could range from preparing briefings at pace for Ministers to meet with their international counterparts, drafting policy papers on complex areas to support the UK’s negotiation positions and leading the delivery of visits to the region. You will hone your communication, delivery and influencing skills - with possible opportunities to travel internationally.
