**Matchday Safety Steward**

Derby County Football Club, established in 1884, is one of the founder members of the English Football League and has a rich and varied history, including two First Division titles in 1972 and 1975 and an FA Cup success in 1946. The club are currently playing in League One, the third tier of English Football, and is under the management of Head Coach, Paul Warne. The club also boasts a successful and respected Category One Academy, a status which has been held since 2014. Derby County is embarking on an exciting new era following the change in ownership to Clowes Developments (UK) Limited. Our track record of producing talent is outstanding, and we intend to protect that proud legacy, investing in key roles within the club to build on the foundations in place for success.

Derby County Football Club are recruiting Matchday Safety Stewards to join our Matchday operations team

The role of Matchday Safety Steward is pivotal in ensuring the overall matchday experience is one to remember, providing excellent levels of customer service whilst ensuring the safety of all who attend our stadium.

**Personal characteristics and experience**:

- Previous customer service experience is essential
- Previous stewarding or crowd management experience is desired
- Knowledge of Pride Park Stadium
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours
- Confident, Resilient and Self Motivated
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Work using own initiative and as part of a team

**Desirable Qualifications**
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English to Grade C or above
- Security Industry Authority (SIA) Accreditation

Due to the nature of this role, applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age.

There is a requirement for all Matchday Safety Stewards to attend 70% of all home league fixtures. Please note, this primarily includes weekend and evening work.

The club will provide you with Level 2 Spectator Safety Training for all Matchday Safety Stewards. This is a mandatory qualification you will be required to hold in this role.

The rate of pay is £10.42 per hour rising to £10.77 per hour on successful completion of Level 2 Spectator Safety.

Within your first few games as a Matchday Safety Steward, you will be supervised by another Steward on your stand to provide the opportunity to learn from your colleagues and put all Spectator Safety learning into action
