**Must be able to work to the shift pattern required by the centre, falling between 8am and 6pm. The post holder may be required to work outside of normal hours on occasion, with due notice.**

Provide high quality integrated day care and early education to children from birth to 7 years within a multi-disciplinary team and in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The post will be based within one of LB Camden’s Children’s Centres and can involve work both inside and outside the Children Centre building. The post holder is required to support home visits with colleagues as necessary.

There is a requirement to lift and assist in toileting and changing and in helping to transfer from seating to mobility aids. Work may also involve implementing individual movement programmes, under the direction of other professionals. The post holder will be required to help with first aid provision, comforting sick or injured children.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) within the setting for children aged two to five years. Lead on the planning, implementation and evaluation of a high quality early years curriculum, which includes a full commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.
- Provide a challenging and exciting early years curriculum which meets the children’s needs and interests and leads to children achieving at or above their expected level in all areas of development.
- Be the key person responsibe for a group of children.
- Be responsible for the assessment of children’s overall development, including carrying out observations, recording children’s achievement and maintaining developmental records to a high standard.
- Have sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Play an active role in contributing to senior management team meetings

Qualifications:

- Qualified Teacher status and a Teacher reference number.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in early years education and/or childcare

Knowledge:

- Knowledge of The Early Years Foundation Stage

**Experience**:

- At least 2 years’ experience of working directly with children under 5 years in a group day care situation
- Experience of working as part of a team in a childcare setting.
- Previous experience in similar role

Skills & Abilities:

- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to support the planning of an Early Years curriculum and implement the planned activities, undertake record keeping and observation of children.
- Ability to use information technology systems and equipment.
