- Evidential Property Officer - Permanent and Full time position.

**Salary**: £23,694 per annum, rising to £24,240 per annum and rising again to £24,807 per annum in two annual increments.

The Evidential Property Officers act as custodians responsible for the management of all of police evidentially seized property exhibits, retained as part of a policing investigation. Whilst the list is not exhaustive, this will include the safe handling of items relating serious criminal offences, such as, cash, drugs, weapons and forensic samples. Training will be provided.
This role is a very busy and demanding one and will be supported by an Assets Supervisor. Using police databases, the post holder will be required to process all incoming and outing exhibit items. You will also be required to make well informed decisions regarding the retention/disposal of property exhibits and to promote the use of photographic images with a view to eventually reduce the volume of exhibits held across the three stores / force.
To use legislation such as Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996, Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) and Management of Police Information (MOPI) to review longer term exhibits and dispose of if required. They also provide appropriate and expert advice to police officers, police staff and to members of the public, on matters concerning property and CSI forensic exhibits as and when required. To succeed in this role its essential the post holder will possess good communications skills, both verbal and written. Good organisational skills and the ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in respect of work undertaken. An ability to problem-solve along with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and with the way in which the unit operates and the constant demands needs to have the ability to adapt to changes in systems and processes.
