Our client is a rapidly growing, family-owned retailer with over 170 stores in the UK and a thriving online and International business. They have opened 30 new UK stores in the past two years and have ambitious plans for further growth across Internationaland partnership retail models.They are massively customer centric and really care about their people, customers and the communities in which they trade in.

They are now looking for a Senior Buying Manager to join their fast-paced buying team, they will work under the direction of the Head of Buying, who is responsible and accountable for the buying of designated supplier base ranges. Supporting as needed withteam development and to proactively seek ways to continuously improve buying function processes.As Senior Buying Manager you will also be a skilled negotiator with exceptional communication skills and be supremely organised. As an expert in your field, youwill be able to deep dive and micromanage the smaller commercial details whilst also stepping back and maintaining a more holistic view of the wider business and functions. On top of all that you will also be a brand ambassador, displaying a natural abilityto build effective working relationships, enabling you to work collaboratively with internal teams, partners and supply base.

**Senior Buying Manager - Responsibilities**
- Work in conjunction with Head of Buying and Directors to influence strategic plans and developments.
- Able to operate and manage their specific area of the business.
- Delivering required multi-channel growth and delivering on channel requirements.
- Delivering information and performance data on allocated product areas.
- Assisting in the leading and motivation of the wider buying team.
- Generating ideas, proposals and effectively project managing activities in line with growth and trade plans.
- Monitors and maintains stocks as per KPI’s set.
- Liaises with Stores, Marketing and eCommerce teams to develop and maintain professional working relationships, ensuring sales are maximised.
- Ability to build a balanced/commercial range that meets the customer needs and delivers the target performance.

**Senior Buying Manager - Required Skills**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar commercial role, ideally within retail.
- Must have previous frontline supplier facing experience.
- Commercially astute with a proven track record of leading negotiations to a successful conclusion.
- Experience in managing, developing and coaching a number of team members in a variety of roles.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to scope and develop new or improved core processes.
- Ideally a degree or equivalent qualification.
- Computer literate with sound excel skills (windows desktop/laptop and server systems.
- Ability to be agile, operate commercially as an expert in the role and be able to understand the wider business needs in an expanding and diversifying company.
