Sue Ryder Retail Till Volunteer
Be there when it matters
Sue Ryder are one of the largest charity retailers in the UK with over 400 shops. Every item sold in our shops generates funding so we can continue to provide 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical and emotional support every year, in our hospices and neurological centres, in people's homes and in the community.
We have a much-loved presence on high streets across the country - with a range of new and innovative shops, including boutiques, vintage and retro shops, and large format stores. As a member of the retail team you’ll be helping us Inspire communities to provide more care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. You will also be contributing to drive up the income that generates the vital funds necessary to keep our care and support services running.
About us
This is the largest shop in Scotland and one of the largest in the country, on a large retail park off a busy motorway on the outskirts of Edinburgh, about 20 minutes from the city centre.
About you
You don’t need any experience to join us as a volunteer you just need to be willing and helpful with a flexible and enthusiastic approach.
As a Sue Ryder Shop Volunteer you will have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the day to day running of the store including but not limited to.
- Sorting and pricing stock
- Stock replenishment
- General customer service
- Till work
- Window Dressing
- If cleaning is your favourite thing to do, we also have opportunities to help keep our stores safe and hygienic.
How you’ll benefit
In return for your enthusiasm, you will have the opportunity to be part of a wonderful team, gain new skills and experience, and most importantly contribute towards providing more care for more people in the community.
How much time does the role take up?
Ideally we ask that you can make a regular weekly commitment. How often you volunteer is flexible and can be a regular morning or afternoon during the week or weekends.
Why not arrange a taster session
If you want more from volunteering, we want you.
Join the team and be there when it matters.
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition - we’re there when it matters. Our doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
