**Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme where whilst undergoing training they will be paid 60% of the top of Band 5 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 5 scale.**

An exciting opportunity has become available for the post of Student Audiologist, based within Princess Gate, Hamilton.

**Job Purpose**
- A practicing healthcare Practitioner, who contributes towards provision of a comprehensive Audiology Service. Takes part in contributing to service development and maintains professional standards.
- Assists the Audiology Team Leader in the daily clinical work of the department and is responsible for managing own workload and the workload of Assistant Audiologists.
- This involves expert rehabilitative care, diagnostic assessments of hearing, and care for adult and children hearing aid users.
- Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills with other professionals and service users, including patients, carers and relatives.
- Provides clinical assessments and hearing aid programming and provision using complex computer software and specific specialised hardware.
- Assists in one or more of the specialist areas of Audiology Service provision.

**Knowledge, Training and/or Experience Required to do the Job**
- Ability to communicate effectively with all client groups.
- Ability to perform a wide range of audiological tests.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work off own initiative within the role.
