Testudo is in need of a US citizen who is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (or similar) to support physical performance, readiness, and rehabilitation elements of the US Air Force Special Operations Command, Integrated Operational Support(IOS) programs in direct support of the Line of the Air Force (LAF) mission assigned program with the goal of building resiliency, enhancing human performance and improving unit mission effectiveness. The primary focus of this position is enhanced squadron/unitmission execution, achieved by improved musculoskeletal resilience to optimize Airmen physical fitness and performance in the operational environment, and to reduce risk of musculoskeletal injury.

The performance coach:

- Observes and/or participates in squadron activities in order to identify physical and ergonomic stressors that increase risk of mission-related occupational injury
- Develops and implements initiatives to mitigate physical and ergonomic stressors and optimize airman performance
- Serves as a certified strength coach

Place of Performance:

- RAF Alconbury/Molesworth & RAF Croughton

**Requirements**:

- A prescribed certification approved by a nationally recognized professional organization; e.g., National Strength and Conditioning Association: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS); American College of Sports Medicine, Certified ExercisePhysiologist (C-EP) or similar.
- Master's Degree from an accredited university program in physical therapy, exercise science, exercise physiology, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, or related field is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and skill in using of state-of-the-art computer-based software and other instructional/evaluative material, current and highly specialized strength and conditioning equipment, facility recommendations and practices, training aids and devices applicableto program objectives, training effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Employee may be asked to pass a USAF physical fitness test (AFI 36-2905) at the male/female 30-39 years of age standards.
- May be required to work extended hours or rotating shifts to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- May share on-call duty during weeknights and/or weekends on a rotational basis as required consistent with other health professionals of the same specialty performing like duties.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.

Overall Objective:

- Enhance the operational effectiveness and human performance of select USAF operational units by temporarily integrating into unit operations, collecting and analyzing data regarding factors that adversely affect mission effectiveness and developing andexecuting strategies to mitigate risks and enhance performance.
