We are recruiting for a motivated Credit Controller to join the company to strengthen our Finance team and manage a portfolio of debt in a fast paced, high volume environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Credit Controller is responsible, as part of the Finance team, for effective collection of outstanding client balances.

The Credit Controller will utilise the Scottish Court System to ensure legal recoveries are actioned against debtors in liaison with our appointed legal representative.

The Credit Controller will ensure that the duties are performed in a manner commensurate with the firm’s core values: integrity, quality, performance, clarity.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- A good understanding of debt recovery processes is essential.

Proficient knowledge of standard software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

Demonstrate an understanding of the Scottish Court procedures.

Awareness of the Sequestration process involved through recoveries.

Familiarity in the Notice of Potential Liability process is desirable.

Understanding of Title Deeds and Register of Scotland practises.

Knowledge of Trust Deed arrangements.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Proven experience within income recovery, ideally in the property factoring sector.

Proficient understanding of Title Deeds for properties.

Ability to submit “Simple Procedure” registration at court.

Knowledge of Registers of Scotland procedure to register Notice of Potential Liability.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Professional telephone manner.

Ability to deal with difficult customers and complex issues.

Excellent negotiation skills.

A good team player that can build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.

A high level of personal organisational skills and initiative.

Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

A sound knowledge of standard IT platforms.

Basic accounting knowledge and ability to reconcile accounts.

MAIN DUTIES
- Negotiate, implement and monitor feasible repayment solutions that take into account the client’s circumstances while balancing the best interest of the business.

Building relationships with clients through regular contact to validate, with a view to understand and resolve breaches of agreements with customers.

Instructing, liaising and monitoring third parties such as debt collection agencies and solicitors to ensure the best outcome is achieved.

Ensuring compliance with all appropriate legislation and regulatory bodies guidelines.

Updating databases and systems in order to keep an accurate record of activities, observations and outcomes of recovery process.

Working to strict deadlines in all aspects of the income recovery process.

Meeting agreed performance targets.

Other duties as required.

**Salary**: From £22,500.00 per year
