Head of Production

Our client, a privately owned, growing manufacturing business are looking for a Head of Production to join their Senior Leadership team. Reporting into the Operations Director, the incoming Head of Production will bring strong leadership expertise, and will be responsible for Production and Quality Assurance, with 5 Section Managers and Team Leaders reporting in, and a wider team of c40. Taking accountability for developing processes, KPI’s and performance measures to drive productivity and efficiencies.

**Critical impact areas for the incoming Head of Production will include**:

- Driving operational efficiency to ensure outputs are achieved to meet or exceed budgeted sales, on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
- Controlling direct materials and distribution costs, keeping these to a minimum to maximise profitability.
- Leading, developing and mentoring the team, ensuring the correct team is in place and is appropriately trained to meet the demands of sales.
- Monitoring direct labour costs, ensuring the team is working efficiently to maximise output and minimise costs. Ensuring the team meeting and exceed planned daily/weekly schedules.
- Developing and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, driven by clear objectives and KPIs.
- Managing recruitment processes as required and the ongoing development of the team, including annual reviews and appraisals.
- A proven and progressive experience in a management role in manufacturing and the have the desire and capability to drive positive change.
- Leadership, team building and coaching experience with the ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
- Previous experience of implementing continuous improvement to drive improvement.
- A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible, with good planning and organisational skills.
- The ability to work cross functionally, collaborating with other areas of the business to deliver results.

**Salary**: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per hour
