Apprentice Mechanical Craftsperson

**An opportunity exists to join the Maintenance Team as an Apprentice Mechanical Craftsperson based at our Manufacturing site in Cockermouth, Cumbria.**

The main purpose of this role once fully trained will be to work as part of a team to provide both reactive and project Mechanical work across all areas of the site, including breakdowns and preventative tasks.

**Main duties of this role will include but are not limited to**:

- Train as a Mechanical Craftsperson over a 2 year programme commencing in September 2023.

In doing so you will develop the required skills and experience in engineering maintenance covering all plant equipment on the Cockermouth site, including:

- Planned preventative maintenance
- Corrective maintenance, fault finding and problem resolution
- Working on engineering improvement projects
- Supporting the installation of new plant and equipment on site.
- Attending Lakes College on a day release basis to complete a Level 3 Engineering Manufacturing Apprenticeship.
- Good practical/hands on skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work well within a small team.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Excellent problems solving, planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to pay particular attention to detail with a strong work ethic and a right first time attitude.
- The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Sound IT skills.
