**T Levels**

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a proactive and motivated individual to join us as an apprentice and work on a key Secretary of State priority - the delivery of T Levels

We are currently undertaking a major overhaul of England’s Technical Education system and the qualifications within it, with the introduction of the new T Levels from September 2020. This huge reform programme is a top departmental and Prime Ministerial priority.

In the Post-16 Skills Plan (published in July 2016), the Government agreed to implement all recommendations made by the independent panel on technical education.

This included the introduction of 15 clear routes into skilled employment. These routes will provide the framework for new two-year, classroom-based technical qualifications known as T Levels, at level 3.

One T Level will be the equivalent of three A Levels and 20% of the course will be as a substantial work placement. They will be challenging courses that involve approximately 50% more learning hours than traditional technical level 3 routes.

These programmes have been co-designed with employers to ensure they will give young people the skills they need to do the jobs of the future. This is especially important given the current pressure on the economy caused by Covid-19.

The Government is putting in significant support, £500m a year has been committed to support T levels, and £133m capital funding so far to support implementation. This is backed by a substantial implementation programme to develop and deliver the new programmes and qualifications.

**Job description**:
**Industry Placements**

One of the recommendations made by Lord Sainsbury was that every 16-19 year old student studying a T Level will be entitled to a high-quality, substantial industry placement (minimum of 45 working days) with an employer in an industry relevant to the learner’s field of study. Successful completion of this industry placement will be a requirement for the T Level.

This is a significant change to the generic 2 week work experience most students currently undertake. It will therefore be a significant challenge for employers to be able to identify and resource these new industry placements, at the quantity and quality needed, and for providers to make relationships with the right employers and adequately prepare their students. Without a pipeline of employers to offer placements, there is a significant risk to the successful delivery of T Levels.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain a Level 4 apprenticeship in Policy.

- You must have lived in the UK for 3 years prior to apprenticeship start date and not be undertaking another apprenticeship at the same time.
- You must not already have a substantial amount of the skills and knowledge that is covered in the contents of the apprenticeship standard.
- You must not have already worked in a similar role, or your previous learning, and/or work experience covers the contents (Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours) of the apprenticeship standard.
