The department of Urology at Portsmouth University Hospitals are looking to appoint to a newly established endourology and stone surgery fellowship programme, based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity, to provide comprehensive training in advanced endourology and stone surgery techniques including establishing PCNL access, in a high volume centre. The post holder will work through a structured training syllabus, to master complex flexible ureteroscopy, standard and mini PCNL including access as well as having the opportunity to be trained to perform HoLEP procedures. The hospital performs approximately 100 PCNL procedures a year as well as over 300 flexible ureteroscopy procedures and 80 Holep procedures. The department has one of the highest daycase rates in the country and routinely offers both flexible Ureteroscopy and mini PCNL on a daycase basis. The department has also recently purchased a onsite lithotripter and offers experience in ESWL. The fellowship programme can be tailored to meet the requirements of the successful applicants experience and future sub-specialty ambitions.
