Roles at the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner (OPCC) can range from delivering education sessions in schools as part of the Violence Reduction Unit to supporting the Commissioner’s drive to provide support services to victims of crime. **The Role**

The post holder’s primary focus will be to ensure that building safer communities is at the heart of everything we do in the office and will include major elements of scrutiny and performance analysis as well as project management, commissioning and grant management. The post holder will be responsible for a range of projects including as a priority the management of the Northumbria Immediate Justice project and will work with partners to develop and deliver this work package in the first 12 months of the role. The post holder will be responsible for briefings on any key legislative changes, statutory and non-statutory consultation responses in relation to building safer communities and will support delivery of the priorities in the Police and Crime Plan.

**What do I need?**

Hold a degree or at least 4 years’ experience of building safer communities or performance and project management.
- A working knowledge and understanding of community safety policy and the criminal justice system and government direction.
- Experience of partnership working and engagement in a multi-agency environment.
- Experience of project management with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver within timescales.
- A track record of demonstrating initiative and delivering innovative solutions to whole system approaches to building safer communities.
- Understanding of policing issues, especially those referred to in the Police and Crime Plan for Northumbria.
