**Overview**:
First Military recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Workshop Supervisor to join their Service Centre team in Hyde near Manchester.
The Supervisor will lead, manage, and ensure the efficient and effective running of the Service Centre workshops to support and deliver the needs of production requirements in a safe manner. They will continuously improve the process ensuring Quality, Environmental,and Legal requirements are met (including H&S) and will provide support to the business to ensure cost effective processes and practices.
This is a full-time, permanent role with a mix of shop-floor and office based activities with relevant mínimal travel as required.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Actively contribute to and support the Operations Management Team.
- To ensure the safety and well-being of the department team including PPE compliance.
- Lead and supervise workshop employees to ensure their active engagement to being productive and efficient through the achievement of overall contribution to department KPIs.
- Ensuring quality of service and compliance in legislation and standards through effective technical risk management including Health & Safety, the provision of accurate technical data which supports quality initiatives and right first time practice.
- Work within the departmental policies and procedures.
- Actively support the Strategic Plan and provide timely and
- accurate planning and allocation of resource.
- Responsibility for NCR recording, investigation and resolution including preventative action.
- Identifying and implementing improvement projects, developing the service and the team capabilities.
- Responsible for approving and inputting of hours into SAP.
- Responsible for allocation of work to workshop employees.
- Responsible for overall supervision of workshop activities/employees.
- Co-ordinate with manufacturing plant when service work is being sourced via the factory.
- Responsible for goods inwards and associated company process.
- Perform final inspection of all equipment prior to despatch.
- Responsible for all workshop machinery checks and associated
- company safety checks.
- Review & approve all workshop reports.
- Ensure adherence of all workshop activities are inline to hours quoted.
- Appraisals of direct personnel.
- Conduct Toolbox talks and record attendance.
- Drive 5S implementation & sustain.
- Maintain high level of good housekeeping.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Extensive knowledge and practical experience of pump fundamentals and service methods [essential].
- Knowledge of pump design and assembly techniques and providing technical guidance to personnel [essential].
- HNC and relevant engineering apprenticeship and/or work-based experience.
- Highly numerate with competent IT skills.
- Leadership and management skills including creating an environment which encourages teamwork and collaboration, development of processes and systems.
- Maintaining professionalism and integrity.
- The ability to handle multiple complex priorities.
- Effective time management, delegation and organisational skills.
- Management skills to set expectations, track and communicate results, support and facilitate individuals’ development (appraisals).
- Ability to sustain an environment of accountability for results.
- Creative and change-orientated continuous improvement process knowledge and skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently as appropriate.
- Highly self-motivated.
- Full driving licence.
- Training and experience in managing teams and individuals NEBOSH trained [highly desirable].
- Dye penetrant certified to PCN II [highly desirable].
- ILM Management Training Course [highly desirable].
