***What does the team do?**

Our Fulfilment teams are at the cutting-edge of our technology engineering business. From the design and manufacture of the most state-of-the-art products in the business, to their delivery into our multi-million pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) across the globe, our electrical and mechanical development projects are pushing the boundaries of innovation and automation.

Within the Fulfilment stream sits our Fulfilment Automation teams, who oversee the design and development of build to print peripheral product handling systems.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer who will be responsible for the architecture of electrical design and all associated activities throughout the full development lifecycle of a set of products. This will include the design of control panels, test rigs, field cabling as well as all safety and compliance aspects in accordance to the product requirements. Our existing electrical team has an in-depth understanding of electrical design tools including 2D and 3D modelling packages for internal and external wiring and cable routing.

***What would you be doing?**
- Designing low voltage electrical control systems for products that are required for manual handling equipment used within Ocado customer fulfilment centres.
- Designing and documenting controls, power and safety system architecture for new automation equipment for AC & DC systems.
- Defining cable routing within the control panels using 3D modelling software.
- Checking all modifications and new designs are fully detailed and documented to build to print quality standards.
- Scheduling and leading technical project reviews based on the project deliverables and milestones.
- Internalising and maintaining electrical drawings provided by third parties into Ocado standards.
- Ensuring that design packs are compliant to relevant international standards such as CE, UKCA, UL, and NFPA-79.
- Autonomously defining specifications and working with third party suppliers and manufacturers will be required.
- A proactive and driven engineer with an inquisitive mind and great attention to detail who is passionate about building and optimising new or existing systems.
- You are able to work autonomously as well as collaborate with electrical and mechanical disciplines in other teams and department clusters.
- Has experience of defining electrical architectures using standard industrial practices.
- Demonstrates evidence of working with suppliers, contract manufacturers and development partners.
- Understands the full product development lifecycle.
- Has experience in change management in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Holds in depth knowledge of CAD packages including library management. EPLAN experience is highly desirable but not essential.
